STORY

We are a mother and daughter sharing a passion for gardens and gardening. Both bioengineer by background, Barbara specialized in Waters and Forest at the Catholic University of Leuven (1988) and afterwards completed an additional Master’s degree in Landscape Design at the University of Sheffield (UK), while Anastasia specialized in microbiology and green chemistry at the Catholic University of Leuven (2017).
Our aspiration is to inspire people by sharing our expertise in landscape design, our knowledge about nature and plants and our insights on living with the seasons, from our garden in the hinterland of Bruges, Belgium.
"That special place where you can do your own thing. Where an incredible range of plants from all around the world forms a powerful palette of colors, scents and tastes that blend right under your nose into ever-changing, breathtaking paintings and endless sensory experiences. And when all of this unfolds within a framework of beautifully laid-out lines of hedges and trees, creating both a canvas and a sense of perspective, the magic will be even greater. The garden: the ultimate source of joy and happiness"

“A garden captures many aspects of life. It’s a place to relax, to grow, to cook, to eat, to enjoy, to contemplate, to learn, to wonder... These aspects should be carefully tuned towards the needs of the owners. It’s important to have a balance between open designed spaces to find peace and clarity; and salvaged wild spaces to dream and get inspired. More than a patchwork of elements, a garden should convey a bigger idea while being integrated with the house and its surroundings. Finally, it is key to respect the place’s identity by valuing its heritage, its environment and endemic species.”
